Barra Bound

I left my heart on Barra,
By a beach near Vatersay,
But I know I will travel back
To find my heart some day.
I've been around this whole wide world
But you know I've never found,
A better place to lose my heart
So now I'm Barra bound.

The beaches up in Barra
They're as bright and white as snow
And crystal clear and turquoise waters
Around the islands flow.
And the hillsides ring and the birds they sing
When the wind blows the heather around
But if you have to part, you can lose your heart,
So now I'm Barra bound.

Barra's in the distance
And the ferry's in a mighty swell
But I don't care about the waves
Because I know all will be well
And we'll laugh and play in Castlebay
And we'll listen to the heavenly sound
Of my heart beating once again
Now I'm Barra bound.

I left my heart on Barra,
By a beach near Vatersay,
But now at last I've travelled back
And I've found my heart today.
I was Barra Bound, Barra Bound
From the far south I did roam,
And now I'm back here once again
And Barra will be my home.
